Troubleshooting
Use this page when a project feels wrong but you do not yet know whether the issue is in draft, Studio, plugins, publish, or access.
The live site does not match what I see in Studio
Section titled “The live site does not match what I see in Studio”What this usually means
Section titled “What this usually means”- The latest draft was never published.
- The wrong domain or project version was used during publish.
- The change exists only in Studio and has not been promoted to live yet.
Check first
Section titled “Check first”- Confirm that the latest draft was actually published.
- Re-check the target domain used during the publish step.
- Verify that the project changes were made in the version you intended to ship.
- If the project uses plugins, confirm that the plugin configuration you expected is part of the published state.
The imported draft feels incomplete
Section titled “The imported draft feels incomplete”What this usually means
Section titled “What this usually means”- The source URL did not expose enough stable content.
- The first generation needs editorial cleanup rather than another blind retry.
- The business direction was under-specified, so the result stayed too generic.
Check first
Section titled “Check first”- Make sure the imported URL was public, stable, and representative of the site you wanted.
- Review whether the first pass actually captured the main pages and structure.
- Use Studio to repair missing structure before assuming the import fully failed.
- Re-run the import only after changing the source URL or improving the instruction quality.
I published, but the launch still feels unfinished
Section titled “I published, but the launch still feels unfinished”What this usually means
Section titled “What this usually means”- The site is technically live, but launch-ready details were skipped.
- Plugin setup, contact details, or legal/copy review did not happen before publish.
- The final polish pass in Studio was not complete.
Check first
Section titled “Check first”- Revisit the pre-publish checklist.
- Check plugin configuration, especially form recipients and analytics expectations.
- Review missing assets, CTA wording, and contact/legal details.
- If the site structure is correct, use Studio for a focused polish pass and republish.
Form submissions or analytics do not look right
Section titled “Form submissions or analytics do not look right”What this usually means
Section titled “What this usually means”- The plugin is not fully configured for the current project state.
- The live launch happened before the plugin setup was verified.
- Expectations around recipients or traffic data do not match the current configuration.
Check first
Section titled “Check first”- Revisit Plugins Overview.
- Verify the Contact Form setup and recipients if leads are missing.
- Verify the Analytics setup if traffic is not appearing as expected.
- Republish if the plugin configuration was corrected after the last launch.
I can view the project but not work in the right place
Section titled “I can view the project but not work in the right place”What this usually means
Section titled “What this usually means”- You are in the wrong organization or project.
- Your role is narrower than expected.
- A handoff happened, but access was not reviewed afterward.
Check first
Section titled “Check first”- Confirm that you are in the expected organization and project.
- Re-check role assignment and project access if you are a client editor or collaborator.
- Ask the project owner whether access changed during a recent handoff or launch cycle.
When to ask for help
Section titled “When to ask for help”Collect these details before escalating:
